It’s time I’m about to rekindle my artsy passion for watercolor painting.
Art used to be one of my pastime every school holidays. I have a particular liking for watercolor medium as it is a very fine medium. Most people get it all mixed up with the poster color medium. Water color medium is actually more water based which demands delicate strokes to be able to bring out details and textures and very importantly one must have a good sense of color layering to be able to know how to start off a work with this medium.
Of course a range of good appropriate brushes is definately needed. I always am fascinated with fine details such as thin lines that defines certain details. The reason i’m so into these fine details is because i love controlling a small brush as i create those fine lines and details.
The plus point about watercolor painting is that you dont have to have a wide range of paints. Because a basic range of 12-18 colors will do the job excellently. Color mixing is a pretty cool skill in watercolor painting. Besides I love using watercolor medium as it is not messy, the stains are easily removed and i can not bother about washing my palletes after painting i could just leave the paints on the palletes to dry and reuse them the next time. That’s the really cool part.
Oh well. I’ve put aside this artsy passion for quite sometime ever since I got into college. But i guess my craving for the brush and paints are returning. Hopefully i will be able to start on them again in the coming holidays.
Furthermore I have someone special to appreciate and admire my masterpieces now!!! What an inspiration …..Besides my dear has been inspiring me and encouraging me these days to get on it again.
And look I loved this……

A book on watercolor painting techniques lended to me by Lionel… oooh nice nice!!!!

This were my resources
Here are some of the remains of my past watercolor works. Most of the nicer ones were framed and given away as gifts to people.
Blue Tones ~A Night In the Open Seas~
One of my very first attempts with watercolor and some ink sketching. Not a very good piece of work. That’s the reason it has to remain with me. This piece never made it as a gift to someone.
Another first attempt scenery work. Not given away because it isn’t of a ‘giveaway-standard’
Oh well the next time i produce another piece it must all be photo shot before giving away.
Chaoz!
